This is a new recording and mix of a song I recorded and released a couple of years ago. It's about a shipwreck during a storm at sea and the despair felt by the captain and crew. Although the song has a rather serious theme and hard outcome, the project was done mostly for fun.

Lyrics
A ship a-sail is a lonely place when you’re seeking calmer seas
Off the wind is a mighty wave and there's another one off the lee.
The captain said “I took the chance and the course I set was true,
It’s a demon's curse I will not name that caused this storm to brew.”
For hours long they fought the gale thinking soon this will blow past.
And tho’ they reefed and furled the sails they knew she could not last
Much longer, then the masthead failed and the waves were rising fast
And every deck hand feared the next one just may be their last.
All through the night no solace came, the ship was battered hard.
The captain cried “Cut loose the boats, she’ll soon be just a shard”!
But the next wave beat the good ship down and scattered all the crew.
And each man asked for refuge in the best way that they knew. They prayed
Can there be a haven in this storm?
Lord our ship is being tossed about and her sails are worn and torn.
Is there anybody listening, Lord can anybody hear?
Will the sea be our last haven after all, can you lead us to a peaceful refuge near?
When morning broke the storm had passed, but little did remain.
Just scattered remnants, broke and ruined, left by the hurricane.
Amid the flotsam clinging fast to a water-logged sea chest
A sole survivor watched a sail away off in the west.
“Can you be a friend and cast a line to a man in desp’rate need?”
The captain cried but no one heard, the clipper paid no heed.
As he watched the topsail disappear, he knew this voyage was done.
Then he let go the chest and turned his face toward the sun.
He prayed…
Can there be a haven in this storm?
Lord my ship is torn to pieces and my body’s beat and worn,
Is there anybody listening? Lord I know that you can hear.
I know I found my haven after all; now take me to Your peaceful refuge near.
An angry sea is a hostile place when there is no sign of land;
Weariness leads to despair when you find no helping hand.
As the skipper sank beneath the waves his soul had been reborn
And he reached his hand to the One who offered refuge from the storm.
